Meet Emily, one of our Assistant Project Managers.

We asked her a couple of questions to help you get to know her a little better:

  1. Why did you decide a career in construction was for you?
I did not decide construction was for me, construction decided for me. I was working two jobs in New Hampshire and I was offered an entry level job. If I were to take the job I would have to leave NH and move to MA. I gave my two weeks notice and moved to MA and never looked back. I’ve been working in construction ever since.

  2. What were your biggest fears when you started out?
Back then, I never had any fears - I was young and ambitious. I wanted to be better than the best at my job. My mentor would always say, “keep your head down and work hard.”

  3. What is your favorite thing about working for Haynes Group?
There is no glass ceiling here. No one puts you in a box. There is opportunity in any direction.

  4. What advice would you give another woman looking to start her career in the construction industry?
Flock to the places and the people that believe in you and want you to succeed.
